A man has been charged with arson after two fires in Halifax this early morning.

It was just after 4am when crews were called to the 5600 of Spring Garden Rd.

They found a planter on fire as well as an advertising sign.

They put the fires out pretty quickly.

The 41-year-old will appear in court today.
