Antigonish and Pictou County may be getting 16 new wind turbines.
Th energy company WEB Weavers Mountain Wind Limited Partnership has registered to have their plan for the windfarm environmentally assessed by the province.
The farm would be built on the county border of Antigonish and Pictou just West of Beaver Meadow. Each turbine would be over 600 feet tall and could produce over 6 megawatts of energy per year.
The province has until July 27 to approve or the assessment. The turbines would begin working in 2025 and would operate for the next 25 years at least.
