Angus Reid releases Premier approval ratings

By Adam Riley Jun 7, 2023 | 1:31 PM

The Angus Reid Institute is out with its approval ratings for the leaders of Canada’s largest provinces.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Nova Scotia’s Tim Houston have taken first and second place at 57 and 55 percent in the approval ratings knocking out Newfoundland’s Andrew Furey, PEI’s Dennis King and Quebec’s Francois Legault  who held 1st, 3rd and 4th position in March.

Danielle Smith, despite being fresh of her victory in the Alberta provincial election, actually lost a point and now sits at 45 percent.

Ontario’s Doug Ford managed to retain the 33 percent he received during the first quarter of 2023 and New Brunswick’s Blaine Higgs grew 3 points to 28 percent.

However Manitoba’s Premier, Heather Stefanson, remains at only one quarter support for the sixth consecutive quarter, which could be trouble as she heads into an October election.

The numbers were collected through an online survey conducted between May 30th and June 3rd.
