Leadership with the Lake of the Woods District Hospital is warning patients and staff of a two to three-week period without air conditioning within the facility.

Staff say three of the hospital’s cooling units have failed and replacement parts have been ordered, but a number of departments will be without proper air conditioning for the next little while.

Affected departments include:

– 4 West
– 4 East
– 3 East
– 3 East
– 2 East
– Maternity
– Medical Records
– Sections of the Emergency Room

The hospital says control measures have been put in place including fans, cooling vests and portable air conditioning units, but high temperatures can still be expected.
