Saint John police say no arrests have been made after a ‘smash and grab’ at an uptown business.

Officers were called to a break-and-enter in the 60-block of King Street around 11:45 p.m. on May 19.

Investigators said a witness chased the suspect up King Street until he turned right onto Charlotte Street.

“The suspect was never located again,” the police force said in a news release on Thursday.

Police released video of the ‘smash and grab’ in hopes the public might be able to help identify the suspect.

The video appeared to show an individual throwing an item at the window three times before reaching their hand inside.

Just 15 minutes after the video was released, police took it down and said they had identified the suspect.

“The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made,” said police.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
