St. Thomas Aquinas soccer teams are a step closer to advancing to the All Ontario “A” championships.

The Saints boys and girls teams won their games Thursday afternoon.

The TA girls shutout Michipicoten High School from Wawa 2-0.

The Saints dominated play but could only get two by the Wawa goalkeeper.

The two teams will play game two tomorrow morning in the best-of-three NWOSSA championship.

Down in Marathon, the St. Thomas Aquinas boys were 7-0 winners over de La Verendrye from Thunder Bay.

The Saints play Marathon tonight for the right to advance to Friday’s championship game.
