The investigation into the recycling depot fire in Fort Frances is coming up empty on a cause.

The building was destroyed by the fire late Saturday afternoon.

The Fort Frances Fire Rescue Services says it had fully collapsed by the time firefighters arrived.

Three full-time firefighters, five part-time firefighters, and the fire chief responded with a pumper truck, an aerial ladder truck, and a rescue pickup truck.

OPP, the Rainy River District EMS, and the Fort Frances Power Corporation were also on scene.

The department says firefighters were also aided by two men from the town who operated heavy equipment to aid in the fire suppression efforts.

An investigation has identified where the fire started but not how it started.

In the meantime, the town continues to work on plans to resume the collection of recycled materials.

It is asking residents to store their materials until they can be processed.
