Tuesday mornings at Beauty Bay Golf Course are filled with excitement and friendly competition.

Here’s what you can expect once you join the league:

Once you check-in, you will find out who your playing partners are for the day.

The league provides a fun opportunity to participate in activities like the “loony pot” and the 50-50 draw. The loony pot allows you a chance to collect some Beauty Bay loot, while designated holes feature challenges such as closest to the pin or longest putt. The 50-50 draw gives you a chance to win cash prizes and contribute to the league’s funds.

Teams are assembled fairly, taking handicap into account, ensuring a level playing field. The league adopts a shotgun start, assigning each group a hole to start on.

A typical Tuesday morning involves playing a scramble format for nine holes and stroke play for the other nine, with the nines alternating weekly. In the scramble format, each player contributes two tee shots, and the best shots are selected until the hole is completed. The rules are generally relaxed, with penalty strokes limited to one stroke.

Preferred lies, or winter rules, are allowed, permitting slight adjustments to the ball’s position to enhance enjoyment and pace of play. Each team is expected to turn in one scorecard at the end of the round, and weekly winners are reported on KenoraOnline and Facebook.

Beauty Bay Golf Course itself is a treasure, known for its stunning natural landscapes and well-maintained facilities.

Nestled midst the scenic views of Black Sturgeon Lake, this par 70 parkland-style 18-hole course offers a picturesque and serene setting. The modern clubhouse, overlooking the lake, provides the perfect retreat to unwind after a rewarding day on the course. You can learn more about the course at beautybaygolf.ca.
