Two people who fled the Creighton Youth Services facility on Oliver Road late Sunday afternoon are back in custody.

Thunder Bay Police were called to the youth detention centre just before 5:00 p.m. to a report of two females who had escaped the facility.

Within an hour both the 18 year old and 17 year old were located near Golf Links Road and William Street were apprehended without incident.

Police say one of the accused was initially in custody on charges of public mischief, while the other was in on a pair of impaired driving charges and aggravated assault.

They each now face one charge of:
• Escape Lawful Custody
• Fail to Comply with Sentence

The identities are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and both are expected to appear in court today.
