A 58 year old Gull Bay First Nation man has been arrested on charges of accessing and possessing child exploitative material.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit began the investigation earlier this month after learning of images of possible child exploitation were being uploaded from a local user in January.

Further review confirmed those images were consistent with child pornography.

A local address was identified on in the May Street and Northern Avenue area and a warrant was executed at the home early Friday morning.

Additional digital files and electronic devices were located and seized during the search.

The accused has been charged with:
• Accessing Child Pornography
• Possession of Child Pornography

He appeared in court on Saturday and was released with conditions.
