An earthquake was felt close to Yarmouth last night.

Natural Resources Canada tells our newsroom the quake measured at a magnitude of 2.3.

It happened at around 6:50 our time.

The United States Geological Survey shows the epicenter of the minor quake was near Mavillette.

It’s not the first time we’ve experienced an Earthquake in recent years.

The largest was a 3.5 magnitude quake on Canada Day 2015, also near Mavillette.
