The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is moving into Phase 3 of transitioning out of its pandemic response activities.

This new level means those coming to the hospital will still have to sanitize their hands and self screen for the Covid-19 symptoms, but as of Thursday will no longer be required to mask up.

However masks will be required when infection prevention and control protocols are in place or if a patient or care partner is symptomatic.

As well staff, professional staff, learners and volunteers will be required to wear a mask if providing direct patient care and as required per the infection prevention and control protocols.

Masking will no long be required in public areas such as the cafeteria.

Masks will continue to be made available for those who need or wish to use one at public entrances.

  • Main Entrance (6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
  • Emergency Department is for designated emergency only. Other Hospital areas will not be accessible through the Emergency Department.
  • Labour and Delivery doors for Labour and Delivery patients, ECPs and CPs.
  • Renal Doors for Renal patients, ECPS and CPs (6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
