Police say they issued 15 tickets and 13 warnings during recent traffic enforcement operations in the Hampton and Sussex areas.

Mounties set up eight operations in Hampton, Sussex, Damascus, Willow Grove, Upper Loch Lomond and Belleisle on April 27.

“This enforcement operation was the result of complaints we have received from the public about reoccurring issues in these areas,” said Sgt. Tyson Nelson of the Hampton RCMP detachment.

Of the 147 vehicles stopped, police said they issued 15 tickets for a variety of offences, along with 13 written warnings.

Three people were charged with impaired driving and three for driving while suspended.

Officers also arrested one person for fleeing from police, and another on an outstanding warrant.
