Yarmouth’s Mayor was named Professional of the Year by the Nova Scotia Lebanese Chamber of Commerce.

Pam Mood received the award at a ceremony in Halifax earlier this month.

She felt the community needed to be thanked.

“The community are accepting the changes we want to make here, they’ve been accepting, I definitely need to thank the Town of Yarmouth residents,” said Mayor Mood.

Mood also spoke to the diversity that Yarmouth has, and says the town has become an opening, welcome place to be.

“We’re working hard at that, and folks are seeing that and coming here and settling in. That’s exactly what we want to happen.”

Mood thanked her Lebanese family and friends across the province, and said they simply want to make a difference in the lives of others.
