A male accused in connection to Tuesday’s Amber Alert has been taken into custody, while the child was safely located.

Members of the Containment Team and Emergency Task Unit conducted a search which included assets from the Ontario Provincial Police’s Aviation Services and Emergency Response Team located Christopher Daniel Poulin in a rural area of the city’s north side just after 8:00 p.m.

He was taken into custody without incident and faces the charges of:

  • Abduction
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Breach of Release Order

The Thunder Bay Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance during this investigation and will be providing a media update with further details on Wednesday.

A missing 8 year old boy has been located safe, several hours after an Amber Alert was issued.

Earlier Tuesday evening Thunder Bay Police provided an update that they had called in resources from the Ontario Provincial Police and had established a command centre on the city’s north side, as they continued their search for the boy and his father, 28 year old Christopher Poulin, who was believed to be trying to travel to Saskatchewan.
