A Saint Mary’s runner has been named the men’s AUS finalist for the 2023 Lois and Doug Mitchell U SPORTS Athletes of the Year Awards.
Andrew Peverill was named the AUS male athlete of the year after bringing home his third straight gold medal in cross-country this season. He also set five new school records this season, for the 600m, 1000m, 1500m, mile and 3000m events.
In addition to his prowess on the track, Peverill is also a five-time Academic All-Canadian.
UNB women’s hockey goaltender Kendra Woodand was selected as the women’s nominee for the AUS.
The remaining nominees will be announced this Thursday with the winner being unveiled at a ceremony in Calgary on May 24th.
