Three people from Lunenburg County have been charged with drug trafficking.
Through an investigation police stopped a vehicle on Highway 103 near exit 9 in Chester Basin last Tuesday
During the arrest the driver, tried to drive away, but crashed into unmarked police vehicle.
Police found drugs including cocaine, hydromorphone and fentanyl, cell phones and cash.
A 35-year-old man of Bridgewater, has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Flight from Police, Resisting Arrest and Assault with a Weapon. Levy was remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on May 17.
A 33-year-old woman from Bridgewater has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Failing to Comply with a Release Order. Swinimer was remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on May 25.
And a 33-year-old woman from Gold River is facing a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on June 7, 2023 and 9:30 a.m.
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit is made up of members from the Lunenburg County RCMP and Bridgewater Police Service. The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit was assisted in the investigation by the Criminal Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia and the Lunenburg County RCMP.
