The Yarmouth Mariners outplayed the Timmins Rock in their second Centennial Cup game, but in the end it wasn’t enough.
Despite a tying goal from Reid Vos with 21 seconds left, the Rock were able to defeat Yarmouth 4-3 in overtime.
Vos scored twice, Ryan Semple had the other goal, and Joey Lovullo made 36 saves.
The Mariners fired 49 shots on Timmins goaltender Patrick Boivin, including 20 in the opening period.
The OT loss gave Yarmouth their first point, they also have a regulation loss through two games.
The Mariners seek their first win at the national Junior A tournament on Monday afternoon at 1:30 against the Ottawa Jr. Senators.
They’ll wrap up round-robin play Wednesday at 5:30 against the Terrebonne Cobras.
