The mayor of Kenora is in Ottawa this weekend.
Andrew Poirier is part of a municipal delegation to meet with several federal cabinet ministers about housing and homelessness.
“I think that its a very good group of people going down with a lot of data…a lot of information that we’re going to have in front of us,” says Poirier.
“We have well laid out presentations and we’ll see what happens. I mean, we have the stats to show that in a lot of those areas we need help.”
Poirier adds that its important to be included in the delegation.
“If you’re not seen, you’re not heard and I think anytime that we’re able to be at the table, we should seriously think about participating.”
Poirier says the meeting started out as a small one involving only a couple of cabinet ministers, but has since grown to include more ministries.
