The Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation says it exceeded it’s goal of raising $25,000 on Friday in five hours.
A total of $29,930 was raised, and that doesn’t include proceeds from the Kenora Rotary Club’s charity barbeque.
A spokesperson for the community foundation suggests once all their costs are taken into account, the fundraising for the $25,000 in 5 will top $30,000.
The Rotary’s charity barbeque was very popular as it ran out of food.
