Saint John police are looking to identify a suspect and two witnesses after an attempted armed robbery on the east side.

Police said they were called to a restaurant in the 300-block of Rothesay Avenue around 6:44 p.m. Tuesday.

“It is alleged that the suspect … had entered the restaurant demanding money while allegedly armed with a weapon,” police said in a news release on Wednesday.

The man left the restaurant empty-handed but was reportedly followed by a man and a woman, who they want to speak with.

Investigators released photos of the suspect on Wednesday in hopes the public can help them identify him.

If you know who the suspect is, or are one of the two witnesses, you are asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
