Two suspects, aged 21 and 28 and both from Yarmouth, have been arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion and assault that occurred in the early hours of April 30 on Green St.

According to Yarmouth Municipal and Rural RCMP, the two masked intruders forced their way into an apartment occupied by a man and a woman at around 5 a.m. and assaulted the male occupant. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the attack. The suspects were known to the residents.

Later that same day, police attended a second apartment building on Green St. and arrested the two suspects. The 21-year-old suspect has been charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering with Intent and Disguise with Intent, while the 28-year-old suspect has been charged with Assault, Breaking and Entering with Intent (two counts), Disguise with Intent, and Failure to Comply with a Release Order.

The 21-year-old suspect has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on June 19 at 9:30 a.m. The 28-year-old suspect, on the other hand, has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 3 at 9:30 a.m.
