Man charged with human trafficking in Halifax; five victims involved

A man has been charged with human trafficking in Halifax.

Police received a report the crime was happening in the region in January, then on April 28, investigators along members of the Integrated Human Trafficking Team, searched a home in Halifax. The suspect was arrested and a number of electronic devices were seized.

The 40-year-old is facing several charges in relation to incidents that happened between May 2021 and April 2023. Five victims were involved, some were youth at the time.

-Trafficking in persons (x2)
-Human trafficking for material benefit (x2)
-Human trafficking for material benefit of a young person
-Sexual assault (x5)
-Sexual interference (x2)
-Procuring of a young person (x2)
-Procuring
-Advertising sexual services
-Printing and publishing of child pornography
-Assault with a weapon
-Unlawful confinement
-Uttering threats

He is scheduled to appear in court, May 3.
