Two men charged in drug trafficking investigation

A 45-year-old man from Sainte-Anne-de-Kent and a 26-year-old man from Haut-Saint-Antoine have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation in Southeast New Brunswick.

The RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) say the investigation began last month and on April 26, Mounties used a warrant to search a home on Grattan Road in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent where two men and a 24-year-old woman were arrested.

A short time later, RCMP used another warrant to search a second home on Route 134 in Aldouane where a 28-year-old woman was arrested.

Police say the two searches resulted in the seizure of large quantities of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, fentanyl, hydromorphone pills, oxycodone pills, and other drugs.

Police also seized drug trafficking-related equipment and money.

The two women have been released and are scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on June 30.

On April 27, a 45-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and were each charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

Both men were remanded into custody and are scheduled to return to court on May 2 for a bail hearing.
