The Halifax Mooseheads begin their Q-league semifinal at home this weekend against the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

The second-overall Mooseheads have won eight of nine games in the postseason, and will face a big test against the third-ranked Phoenix.

Local sports commentator Logan Delaney says fans are going to be treated to a premium junior hockey series.

He says everyone will have to contribute for Halifax.

“I think depth will be a key factor that can win this series. That will be the catalyst that Halifax has to tap into to win this series,” said Delaney.

The Phoenix have eight NHL draft picks on their team, including two members of Canada’s World Junior team: Tyson Hinds and Joshua Roy.

The Mooseheads have dominant offensive players like Jordan Dumais, Alexandre Doucet and Josh Lawrence.

Forward Zach L’Heureux has also been hot, coming off a great series against Moncton.

Delaney calls Mooseheads goalie Mathis Rousseau one of the most underrated in the league.

Game 1 is tomorrow night, Game 2 is Sunday afternoon, both at Scotiabank Centre.

The winner of the series will move on to the league final against Quebec or Gatineau.
