The doors will open today for the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Community Expo.

It is happening at the Fort Frances Curling Club.

Executive Director Heather Johnson says several businesses and organizations are showcased.

“I think it’s shaping up to be a really good Expo this year. We’ve been really pleased with the number of booths taken, and we’re just really excited to have people come through the doors and see what all the businesses have to offer to them,” says Johnson.

“We have our regular booths as we always do this year. The Lions will be there with their Jail or Bail on Saturday. That’s always a lot of fun to watch and to see people.”

“We have the Make a Big Splash Committee there this year so you can come down, see everything that they’re looking at, putting into the new splash pad that’s going up, and all the improvements to the Legion Park, which is amazing. We have a kids center again this year from Early On, and they

will be there to entertain the kids and to do drawings and crafts like they were last year.”

There is no admission fee, but patrons are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to local food banks.

The event happens from 4 p.m. to 8. p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
