Yarmouth Mayor thrilled with storm-water funding

The Town of Yarmouth is getting help from the province and feds.

It’s for the sewer separation project, scheduled to begin soon at the Milton horse intersection on Vancouver and Main streets.

Mayor Pam Mood says they’re absolutely thrilled.

“Obviously with each section that we do, they are millions of dollars. We’d never be able to do this on our own. Working together makes the magic happen,” said Mood.

The town has budgeted nearly $2.4 million for the work, the province announced nearly $800,000 yesterday.

The work also includes a rebuilding of the road and traffic lights.

Mood says ambulances will still have access to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.

The work should be completed this year.
