Highway 17 east of Dryden Closed because of collision

By Tim Davidson Apr 21, 2023 | 1:25 PM

For the second time this week, the section of the Trans-Canada Highway between Dryden and Shabaqua Corners near Thunder Bay has been closed.

The Ministry of Transportation says there’s been a collision and the OPP is on the scene.

There has been no indication how long the closure will last, but it could be several hours before the road is open.

Highway 622 has also been closed between Highway 17 near Ignace and Atikokan, but the closure is weather-related.

In the meantime, Highway 502 from Highway 594 near Dryden to the Highway 11 intersection near Fort Frances has been re-opened after a collision earlier today.
