DHS qualifies three teams for NWOSSA badminton playoffs

Dryden High School played host to the NorWOSSA badminton championships yesterday and qualified one team to advance to the NWOSSA championships next week in Thunder Bay.
Mackenzie Harrington and her partner Hudson Gagne placed second in the seniors division.
The team of Braydon Morrison and Chase Moline were undefeated in junior boys doubles, and Sophie Koshel and Jaxon Friesen did the same in mixed junior doubles.
The top 2 finishers in each division move on to regionals in Thunder Bay next week for a chance to head to OFSAA.
A total of 150 games were played in 5 senior and 5 junior divisions and, when the games ended, Sioux North won the Senior team title with 33 points, and Fort Frances finished second with 30 points.
At the junior level it was Northern Lakes High School from Atikokan that claimed the title with 38 points, the Dryden Eagles were next at 28.
In all, 9 schools sent representatives to the competition.
