Residents are to be advised of blasting that will be taking place at the Pioneer Pit at 1 p.m.

As a result Terry Fox Lookout, Highway 11-17 from Highway 527 to Balsam Street, Hodder Avenue and Copenhagen Road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the blast.

As a result the public is asked to stay away from the area due to safety.

Pioneer Construction will be doing a 20 thousand cubic metre blast, similar to the one heard earlier this month in the same area, and significantly smaller than the 60 thousand cubic metre blast which rocked homes across the city around this time last year.
