Bulldogs lead Veterans Cup Finals 3-2

The Antigonish Bulldogs lead the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Finals three games to two after splitting a pair of games over the weekend.

The Bulldogs defeated the Capstone Colts 7-1 on Friday night to take a commanding three to one series lead, but the Colts responded with a 3-0 victory on Saturday to keep their championship hopes alive.

Antigonish’s Zachary Lorette picked up his third goal of the series on Friday to lead all scorers, meanwhile team captain Sam Grant added a pair of assists to bring his playoff leading total 13.

Colts forward Cody Garcin added a goal on Friday and an assist on Saturday to make him tied for the series’ leader in points, along with Lorette and Luke Baldwin of the Bulldogs.

Game six will get underway at 7:30 p.m. this Friday at the Shearwater Arena.
