RCMP have arrested a Nova Scotia man who was the subject of a province-wide warrant.

The 54-year-old Wentworth native was found at a motel in Sussex New Brunswick. Authorities had been searching for him since the warrant was first put out on March 27.

The man was nearly arrested earlier this week, when RCMP responded to reports of threats at a home in Middleboro on April 11. The man was said to have been in possession of a firearm and had threatened to kill someone who was known to him. The man fled the scene upon the RCMP’s arrival. The pursuit was called off due to high speeds.

He will now appear in provincial court, where he will face the following charges:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Uttering Threats (2 counts)
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
  • Flight from Police
  • Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order
