Halifax District RCMP arrested a man in relation to an altercation that occurred in Hubbards early yesterday morning. According to reports, the incident began as a verbal altercation between the man, a 41-year-old, and a youth and a woman over elver fishing. The man is said to have threatened the youth and woman during the altercation.

Initially, RCMP reported that two men who were part of a group of seven people who approached the man during the altercation had been charged with assault after attacking the man with a pipe, and brandishing a tazer and knife. Those charges are still being pursued, but in their subsequent investigation, RCMP found grounds to charge the man who was attacked with uttering threats.

The man was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on June 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. to face a charge of Uttering Threats. The police have not released any further details about the incident.
