Shelburne RCMP find, handgun and cocaine responding to shooting complaint

Shelburne RCMP has arrested a 35-year-old man following an incident in Jordan Branch, Nova Scotia. According to police reports, at approximately 3 a.m. on April 5, 2023, RCMP officers responded to a possible shooting at a home on Jordan Branch Rd. Upon arriving at the scene, they arrested the suspect and seized a handgun, ammunition, suspected cocaine, and unstamped cigarettes.

Despite initial reports of a possible shooting, RCMP officers found no evidence of any such incident, nor were there any reports of injuries. The investigation is still ongoing, but the man has been released on certain conditions and will face firearms and excise related charges in court at a later date.

Residents in the area are being urged to come forward with any information related to the incident, and the RCMP have reassured the public that they will continue to investigate to ensure the safety of the community.
