More cancellations and closures because of the snowstorm

The City of Kenora has declared a Significant Weather Event because of all the snow and even more snow on the way.

By declaring a Significant Weather Event, the city is advising residents, pedestrians and motorists to expect winter maintenance service delays.

In the meantime, curbside garbage and blue box pick-up has been cancelled today and the Kenora Public Library is closed as well.

Bingos are also affected as the Skate Keewatin Television Bingo has been cancelled and Golden Eagle also says it’s it cancelling its Wednesday night bingo because of the snow.

All school buses are cancelled today, but schools will remain open for students and staff that can get there.

Highways are all snow-covered with near zero visibility in heavy snow.

As much as 10 to 20 centimeters more snow is expected to fall in the next day.
