A King’s County woman has been fined for selling dogs without a veterinary certificate of health.

It is illegal in Nova Scotia to sell a dog or cat without one.

The SPCA says they received a complaint on May 14, 2022 about golden retriever puppies that were being sold without a certificate of health.

Many of them were sick with Parvovirus causing some families to euthanize their new puppy.

The SPCA urges families to go to www.yournextpet.ca to learn what to expect, the questions to ask and what to look for when picking up your pet.

The 45-year-old woman has been fined $50.00 for each puppy, totaling a $550 fine.
