No charges after some tense moments at a high school in the Annapolis Valley.

Avon View was placed under a hold and secure after reports four students walked into the school with a gun.

RCMP say it turned out to be a pellet gun and it never left a vehicle in the parking lot.

No one was injured in the ordeal and classes continued as normal.

Officers searched the school and stayed on site for most of the day.

RCMP say a pellet gun does not meet the definition of a firearm and the youths were released.
