It was three silver medals for girls’ hockey teams in Winnipeg at the Stars Cup.

The Fort Frances Leafs U13 lost to the Keewatin Shamrocks in their final 6-2.

The Leafs had beaten the Winnipeg Stars Purple 6-1, the Kenora Falcons 5-1, and the Northeast Eagles 10-1 to reach the final.

The Leafs U11 team lost to the Parkland Rangers in their final 6-1.

The Leafs had gone 2-1 in round-robin play, beating the Winnipeg Stars 3-0 and the Elkhorn Canadians 2-1 before losing to the Rangers 5-0.

In the U9 division, the Leafs lost to the Moosimin Lady Rangers 5-2 in the final.

In previous games, the Leafs got by the Winnipeg Stars 6-4, fell to the Rangers 7-1 before ending the round-robin with a 4-1 win over the River Jets.

The Fort Frances Muskies boys curling team ended their run at the all-Ontario high school curling championship in North Bay with a 1-4 record.

The Fort Frances Team Beaudry rink was defeated two games to one at the Northern Ontario women’s curling club championship in Nipigon.

The Rainy River Voyageurs baseball team split a pair of games on Sunday against the Western Technical Cavaliers in Mauston, Wisconsin.

The Voyageurs won the first game 8-2 but dropped the second 3-2.

They will play another double-header this afternoon.

International Falls Bronco track and field teams competed on Saturday at an indoor meet in Bemidji.

Abbi Hutchinson was first in the girl’s long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 2 inches.

Summer Hesseldahl was fifth.

Hutchinson also finished third in the 1,600-meter run. Lila Wood was tenth.

It was a 1-2 finish for the Broncos in the girl’s high jump.
Olivia Thorstenson reached 5’2″ for the win, edging teammate Nora Sullivan by four inches.

Piper Tomzcak tied for sixth place with a jump of four feet, four inches.

The Broncos 4 X 800 girl’s meter relay team picked up a third-place finish in their race.

Other top ten finishes in the girl’s division included the 4 X 200 relay team, which finished fourth.

The 4 X 400-meter relay team also finished fourth in their event.

Tomczak was fourth in the 200-meter dash.

Thorsteinson was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles.

Marg Versteeg was seven in the 60-meter dash, with Lauran Basaraba in tenth.

Sullivan was seventh in the 800-meter run, with Lola Wade placing ninth.

Basaraba was fifth in the shot put, and Kierra Hesseldahl was fifth in the pole vault. Dianna Lavoy was eighth.

In the boy’s competition, the 4 X 200-meter relay placed third in their race.

Wyatt Jantzen was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, sixth in the high jump and tenth in the long jump.

Ezra McGonigle was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles.

Brayden Skifstad was fifth in the shot put, with Renat Godovan placing ninth.
