A woman has been charged with weapons offences after an incident in Herring Cove that had many on edge.
At around 12:30pm yesterday afternoon a woman confronted a man known to her on Herring Cove Road.
She then went back to a home on Greystone Drive.
As a result that area of town was blocked off by police and five schools in the area went into a brief hold and secure including JL Ilsley, Elizabeth Sutherland, Herring Cove Jr. High, William King Elementary and Rockingstone Heights.
There were no physical injuries, and the 66-year-old will appear in court today facing these charges:
-Pointing a firearm
-Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
-Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
-Unsafe storage of a firearm
-Storing a firearm contrary to regulations
-Carrying a concealed weapon
-Unauthorized possession of a firearm
-Possession of a firearm knowing it is prohibited
-Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
