Hearts are heavy in our province as one of the two police officers killed in Edmonton has ties to the Annapolis Valley.

A convoy of first responders drove by the family home of 35-year-old Travis Jordan in Coldbrook yesterday morning.

Jordan and 30-year-old Brett Ryan were shot and killed while responding to a call in Edmonton.

Premier Tim Houston says his thoughts go out to his family and friends.

The convoy consisted of the RCMP, Kentville Police, and military police.

Jordon had been with the police service for a little more than eight years while Ryan was there for just over five years.

Funeral and procession details will be confirmed in the coming days,
