The approval rating of New Brunswick’s premier has fallen again according to the Angus Reid Institute.

Their latest poll finds Blaine Higgs with a 25 percent approval rating which puts him in a tie for last place with Manitoba premier Heather Stefanson among Canada’s provincial leaders.

Higgs has dropped three points in this quarter compared to December.

Higgs backed down on a controversial decision to replace French immersion last month and also voiced discontent for the recent health care funding agreement with the federal government.

Newfoundland premier Andrew Furey has the highest approval rating in Canada at 62 percent, while Prince Edward Island premier Dennis King is third with 58 percent and Nova Scotia premier Tim Houston is fifth at 51 percent.

The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey from March 6-13, 2023 among a representative randomized sample of 4,899 Canadian adults who are members of Angus Reid Forum.
