Many people dream of going from being “stuck in Toronto” to being millionaires.

Terrace Bay resident, Jerry Carpenter, was originally stuck in Toronto after flights were cancelled because of a snowstorm after returning from a beach vacation. He purchased his Lotto 6/49 Classic Jackpot ticket at a store in Mississauga.

He actually forgot about the tickets being in his bag until a month later then he found them and checked them on the OLG app and it played the winning song. Caprenter’s wife said she felt numb when she found out.

Saving for retirement, setting up education funds for his kids and dreams of travelling Europe by train with his family is on the bucket list, along with owning a sailboat.

Carpenter shares the winning ticket with one other person in Ontario.
