Cape Breton Regional Police arrested a ‘person of interest’ after a shooting in Sydney Mines.
The 20-year old was arrested on other, unrelated charges, including failure to comply with a release order and careless use of a firearm.
It happened Saturday morning, and police issued an emergency alert.
Shots were allegedly fired at a residence, there were no injuries.
In the alert, police indicated they were looking for a vehicle with armed person(s) in it.
Later, they said they found the vehicle, but it was abandoned.
We are no longer looking for the 2015 white Hyundai Elantra; it has been located, but no persons were with it. We continue to investigate the shooting incident at a residence in Sydney Mines which appears to be an isolated incident.
