The Municipality of the County of Richmond is committed to ensuring they have comfort centres available for residents during emergencies.

They will look at establishing comfort centres that may be required for residents to stay at overnight. According to Warden Amanda Mombourquette, the centres they currently have are not equipped to provide overnight accommodations.

“We are also concerned about communications and making sure that when emergencies occur and when comfort stations are needed that we have a comprehensive way of communicating so there is less confusion.” says Mobourquette “We also want to make sure that the volunteers that we rely on to activate these centres are supported.”

The Municipality has around 20 different comfort centres in different communities.
