A new budget has been approved for The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) for 2023.

For 2023, the operating budget came out and was approved for $111,446,300, which is a 12.5 per cent increase from last year’s approved budget of $99,102,600. Additionally, almost five million dollars ($4,499,000) in Capital expenditures have been included in this year’s budget to manage TBDSSAB-owned properties.

The organization noted that 65 per cent of the operating budget is for external transfer payments for individuals, families, and funded agencies. The remainder will go to running programs, personnel services, operating their owned properties, and repaying long-term debts.

A release stated that a portion of the operating budget will be financed from a Municipal and Territories Without Municipal Organization (TWOMO) Levy of $24,330,500, which is an increase of 5.5% relative to 2022.
