Today is Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
Itβs a criminal offence that forces and deceives a person of any age in order to exploit them.
Police are asking the public to help prevent the crime, by being informed about human trafficking.
In a series of tweets RCMP say it happens every day in our province and knowing the signs is the first step in prevention.
#Humantrafficking happens every day across #NovaScotia. And it often looks like a consenting relationship at the start. Knowing the signs is a first step in preventing it from happening. π1/2 pic.twitter.com/a7YP9asMMs
