A New Brunswick man faces firearms-related charges after a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) investigation.

It all started in November when CBSA officers at the International Mail Processing Centre in Toronto intercepted a “suspicious parcel.”

The parcel contained two prohibited overcapacity 9mm magazines and was addressed to a resident in Garnett Settlement, near Saint John.

On Jan. 20, CBSA investigators and the RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence in the community.

CBSA said it seized a prohibited 3D-printed 9mm handgun with a prohibited overcapacity 15-round magazine and silencer, a restricted .22 calibre handgun, a bolt-action rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun.

Bradley Hoy, 31, of Garnett Settlement is facing a total of 11 firearms-related charges, including:

  • four counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
  • two counts of possession of a prohibited device;
  • one count of tampering with a serial number; and
  • four counts of unsafe storage contrary to regulations.

Hoy appeared in New Brunswick Provincial Court on Jan. 20 and waS remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 21.
