Family Day: What’s Open & Closed?

Family Day is a provincial holiday which is celebrated on the third Monday of February.

Schools, colleges and universities are all closed today.

Here’s a look at what else is open and closed on this day:

  • Federal services will be available such as Service Canada and Canada Post will be open and delivering mail.
  • Provincial services such as Service New Brunswick and libraries are closed.
  • Municipal offices such as town/village/city halls will be closed.
  • NB Liquor and Cannabis NB corporate stores are closed, agency outlets will be open.
  • Gas stations, convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants and pubs will be open.
  • Shopping malls, big box stores, grocery stores and other retail stores will be closed.
  • Codiac Transpo and Saint John Transit are not operating today.
  • Saint John City Market is open today from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Entertainment venues such as movie theatres will be open.
  • Outdoor festivals and activities such as Moncton PolarFest are happening today.
