Beaver Brae, Fort Frances and Sioux North all picked up gold medals at the NorWOSSA “AA” championships in Dryden on Friday.

The Bronco senior boys basketball team narrowly defeated Fort Frances in the gold medal game 54-51.

In the junior boys final the Warriors edged the Muskies 43-42.

Fort Frances got its revenge on the volleyball court as the Muskie won gold in both the junior and senior girls finals:

The Muskie junior girls downed Sioux North three sets to one and in the senior final Fort topped the Dryden Eagles three sets to two.

Both the Muskie senior girls and the Bronco senior boys advance to the NWOSSA championships next week.

In the SIJHL last night the Dryden GM Ice Dogs beat the Red Lake Miners 5-4.

Red Lake scored the last three goals of the game but it wasn’t enough to erase Dryden’s 5-1 advantage.

Tonight the Ice Dogs are in Sioux Lookout to face the Bombers while the Thunder Bay North Stars travel to Fort Frances to take on the Lakers.
