Int’l Covid-19 Dashboard Shutting Down

By Katie Nicholls Feb 15, 2023 | 12:23 AM

After three years, and billions of views the first Covid-19 data tracker is being unplugged.

Originally launched in January 2020, the website tracked global cases of the emerging virus.

The COVID-19 dashboard was maintained by academics at Johns Hopkins University & Medicine.

With no new information being input after March 10, 2023, the site will still remain online, accessible and free to those looking for global data.

The closure comes as other major organizations launched their own tracking tools during the “covid years”, thus the decision to shut down the site.

Garnering more than 2.5 billion views, more than 200 billion embedded versions of the website were used and were also notably run by an all-female team.
